Medjugorje Pilgrimage 2025 & 2026

(53 Reviews)

Medjugorje Pilgrimage 2025 or 2026 tour spends one week in the peaceful mountain hamlet in Bosnia-Herzegovina where the Virgin Mary has been appearing since June 25, 1981. After arriving in Dubrovnik, Split, or Sarajevo, you will be met by a local guide from Medjugorje who will bring you back to his home village recounting the story of Our Lady’s first apparitions along the way. You will attend Mass and pray the Rosary daily with the villagers and other pilgrims from around the world at St. James Church.  During the Medjugorje Pilgrimage, you will have the opportunity to climb Apparition Hill where Our Lady first appeared, and to make the Way of the Cross as you ascend Cross Mountain. Your guide for the Medjugorje Pilgrimage Tour will arrange for you to meet any of the visionaries who are in the village at the time and to hear young men from the Cenacolo community share their stories of conversion and witness to the healing power of Faith. It is said that Our Lady invites all her Children to Medjugorje to lead them to a closer relationship with Her Son, Jesus, and to exhort us to Pray for Peace in our hearts, in our homes, and our communities. For more information regarding Medjugorje itself, consult the Official Medjugorje website.  This Catholic pilgrimage tour is perfect for individuals, couples, families, or groups.  Go ahead and book your Pilgrimage to Medjugorje in 2025 or 2026 today.

On May 13, 2019, the Pope officially announced that Dioceses and Parishes throughout the world are now authorized to organize pilgrimages to Medjugorje.

“…more than 40 million people from all faiths, including many people with illnesses and problems, have gone on pilgrimage to Medjugorje, a small town in Bosnia-Herzegovina since the first apparitions were said to have taken place there in 1981. Indeed, today more pilgrims go there than to Lourdes, the famous Marian shrine in France, although Fatima continues to draw the same numbers as before the Medjugorje phenomenon.”

I was happy and excited when I decided to join this pilgrimage to Medjugorje.
I enjoyed the privacy of my single room.
I was happy attending everyday mass and received daily communion, and
I was also excited to challenge myself to hike the Apparition Hill. I was determined to climb the hill and to see Mama Mary on top. With the grace of God I did it.
I enjoyed the home cook prepared for us at the Hotel Sulic.
Had a chance to meet people in our group who came from different states and treated each other well as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Good knowledge of our Medjugorje Tour Guide who was always on time and good explanation of places he took us.

Looking forward for future pilgrimage tours from Catholic Journeys pilgrimages.

Happy traveler,

Hi!

This is my review about the Medjugorje pilgrimage: I really loved it! It was wonderful, and every single aspect of the pilgrimage tour was amazing! Ou tour guide was wonderful and helped me understand everything that the visionaries went through! My most favorite part of the trip was visiting Vicka’s house, where we were given exclusive access to the upstairs room where she and the visionaries conduct their visions. I truly enjoyed every single bit of it, the accommodations were wonderful, and the food, amazing. Thank you so much to Catholic Journeys for this wonderful experience and pilgrimage tour!

I would like to express my gratitude 🙏 for Catholic Journeys and father John and his patience with my personal journey to Medjugore. I definitely brought my baggage to the Madonna and believe without a doubt she was there to lighten the load of troubles that have accumulated in my life. I would also like to say thank you to Marko and his experience with the pilgrims made it easy for me to commit to the road map father Slavko wrote about in the 2 books fasting with the heart and praying with the heart. I also want to thank all my fellow pilgrims for their company and compassion. Thanks to everyone for this life changing pilgrimage to Medjugorje.

My family and I had the most amazing experience in Medjugorje! Father John was so delightful, we enjoyed his spiritual leadership on this pilgrimage. The Hotel Sulic was great! The food and hospitality was on point. I could not have asked for a better experience. I’m looking forward to and already planning my next visit.

Thank you,

As soon as I began to set foot in Medjugorje, I felt the sense of peace that permeates the land and the people. For a country that was a part of a war against communism only thirty or so years ago, I was amazed to see no physical or social evidence of destruction and enmity. On the contrary, the love of the local people, their incredible faith in God, was beyond normal. On the night of the veneration of the Cross, the church of St. James was packed with people. I witnessed such a different crowd behavior than I’ve been used to. There was no pushing and shoving, no anger. Instead people flowed through the tight crowds with grace and kindness. It was a place where I felt safe to walk alone, which I like to do while praying.

The camaraderie among the pilgrims was beyond what I’ve previously experienced. Bonds were easily and deeply made. We visited a neighboring community called Cenacolo (Chen-a-cola) where people go, free of charge, to change their lives. The faith of the foundress and the testimony of two of the residents witnessed to the power of strong faith and trust in the goodness of God.

We visited the shop of one of the graduates, Drazen, who is now an accomplished artist, husband and father. He had the group over to his home for lunch on Saturday; such extreme generosity!. It was indeed inspiring to see his work and hear his authentic humility. It was an experience that feed my ministry of iconography.
.
The site of the Franciscan martyrs brought me to a deeper realization of the standard that I want to measure up to; to hold fast to my faith despite the threat of death. How grateful I am to those men who suffered and sacrificed all for the sake of God. And that those sacrifices prevailed. God won! Time with Marija. Marija, one of the 6 visionaries, was open and loving and easy to talk to. She spent generous time with us in conversation once she returned to Medjugorje from Italy where she was caring for her injured husband.

The crescendo event was to be in the room when she received her apparition. We had to wait until the last day and there was threat that we would miss it entirely. So, when that day came, I planned my day to be sure that I would have plenty time to prepare for the apparition. Other pilgrims had experienced supernatural experiences. I have to admit I wanted the same. I went to the place where they occurred, many places, many times, but did not experience any. On the day of the apparition, I had gone on my own for the day to climb Cross Mountain and Apparition Hill. Prayer time there was good. I returned to find Marija in the common room talking to us pilgrims. I sat for quite a while until I thought I’d have time to shower and prepare for the apparition event. But, when I returned from my room, I saw that the group had moved from the common area to the apparition room. When I got there, they had already started the rosary. I felt like a failure. For a while, my mind and my spirit were focused on my lateness, ineptness, just generally being a mess up. Ultimately, I said to Our Blessed Mother…”here I am, messed up, incompetent, such a mess, but I give all of that to you and although I would like to received a sign, an experience, It's ok if it doesn’t happen. I just want to be here with you.” We prayed the rosary in various languages and it was beautiful and easily understandably; blended beautifully. At one point, Maria stopped, kneeled before the statue of the Blessed Mother and the apparition began. It got completely quiet in the room full of about 75 people. I smelled a very strong sent of roses that lasted throughout the apparition and slowly diminished after it was over. During the apparition I felt a sense in my physical body of being filled with Mary’s spirit. As the apparition went on, that sense increased until it reached a point that I felt intoxicated and then it slowly gradually diminished. It ended when the apparition ended. I am so, so grateful for the sign. Maybe I didn’t need it, but I am so grateful that I got it anyway. It was such a confirmation. I have no doubt that the apparitions are real. I am so grateful that God has seen fit to allow Our Mother to visit us and bring us such tangible evidence of His existence and His care for us. I am so grateful that He has blessed us with His Mother to be our own mother.
