I, along with fellow parishioners, visited Mexico City for the pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in June of 2024. I have to say this was a wonderful pilgrimage tour and would recommend it to others. My favorite part was seeing the Tilma, and made a point of viewing it multiple times. Catholic Journeys made going on this Mexico pilgrimage so much more pleasurable and were accommodating by arranging transportation to and from the airport, as well as to a Mexican ballet that our guide recommended as a free time activity that our whole group wanted to attend. The guide and driver, were very friendly and helpful, and our guide’s English was impeccable, as was his knowledge of all the places we visited.

Hotel accommodations were nice, not the ritziest place that I stayed in, but certainly more than acceptable.

The only down side was lack of shopping experience, especially for non religious Mexican items.

I definitely hope to take future pilgrimages with Catholic Journeys.

For me this Mexico pilgrimage was a dream come true. My daughter and I talked about going to Our Lady of Guadalupe years ago but never dreamed it would happen. It was a wonderful pilgrimage tour. Everything was so well planned and everything went like clockwork with no problems anywhere. Our guide was so amazing with all the information he could tell us about all the different sites we went to. And our bus driver, Francisco, did a fantastic job in getting the bus through all the traffic. I will always remember seeing the tilma Our Lady of Guadalupe left behind for the world to see. Thank you Catholic Journeys for making this pilgrimage tour possible for me and my daughter.

It was my first pilgrimage to Mexico and I was looking forward to it.

I accomplished all the goals I set for myself:
* Spiritually I trust God more
* I am closer to Him through Mary
* I would have preferred to have had a family member with me on this journey.

So I have resolved that my next trip to Mexico will be with a family member to thank Our Lady for favors received.

Regards
Elizabeth

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Pilgrimage to Mexico was incredible faith filled experience. Our guide, Raul was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited. Raul explained the religious, historical, and secular information about each site we visited well. Our bus driver, Francisco got us safely, quickly, and as close to the site he could (not enough cold water however). We stayed at the Le Meredian Hotel in Mexico City, the rooms, buffet breakfast and meals were first rate. I always felt safe during the pilgrimage. Marcelle did a very good job planning, scheduling, making arrangement, and keeping us informed about the pilgrimage. It was a joy to be among like-minded people of faith and daily Mass. Some of my favorite places we visited were the pyramids, The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, seeing the Tilma, Tepeyac Hill, the home of Juan Diego, The Church of Santo Domingo, and The Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary (most beautiful chapel in Mexico- ‘eighth wonder of the world’) in Puebla, Holy Family Church in Mexico City (Inside the church, is the Shrine of Blessed Miguel Pro, a Jesuit priest, master of disguise, and martyr), Metropolitan Cathedral in Mexico City- an impressive religious & historical landmark, Templo Mayor (Main Temple) an impressive Archaeological site near the Metropolitan Cathedral in Mexico City, an ancient Aztec city Tenochtitlán, destroyed by the Spanish by 1521, Monument of the Revolution in Mexico a famous landmark in downtown Mexico City, The Chapel on a Hill (Capilla del Cerrito, Tepeyac) marks the location that the Virgin of Guadalupe first appeared to Juan Diego & commemorates the miracle of fresh flowers.

Favorite food- the farewell dinner restaurant, next to the Monument of the Revolution in Mexico, a great view from the 7th floor restaurant- great food and wine.

Overall, Marcelle and Catholic Journeys did an excellent job! Thanks again for this wonderful Mexico pilgrimage.

Dear Marcella, Hannah and Jimmy,

The pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe was lovely. It was a gift to be able to stay in one hotel and just focus on the sites, beginning with pre Christianity of the site of the Mayan culture to the Basilica holding OLG ‘s Tilma. Spending as much time on the Hill of Tepayac, as possible, in the presence of the Tilma was very, very moving.
The skilled bus driver and the generous guide, both giving of their time and aid, that we could simply pray like real peregrinos and make a complete pilgrimage of the four full days; punctuated by lovely meals provided!

Another HUGE highlight was the visit to the museum and Church holding the remains of martyr Saint Miguel Agustine Pro. The guide for this precious small yet complete museum was extremely knowledgeable about her Catholic Faith and the history of Mexico at the time, and of Blessed Miguel Augustine Pro. I would recommend this holy site for every pilgrimage to Mexico as well. I have attached a few photos.
