Travel first to Lanciano to visit the site of the eighth-century Eucharistic Miracle. According to Catholic tradition, a monk who doubted Christ’s presence in the Eucharist witnessed the consecrated host and wine become flesh and blood.
Continue to Manoppello, home of the Volto Santo, a revered image of Christ’s face on a delicate veil. Take time for prayer and contemplation before this image of the Holy Face.
Journey toward the Adriatic coast to Loreto, one of Italy’s great Marian shrines. Visit the Holy House and the Madonna of Loreto. Catholic tradition identifies the Holy House with the home of the Holy Family in Nazareth and recounts its transport by angels to Loreto in 1294.

Stroll through Assisi’s medieval streets, with time to pause at an outdoor café overlooking the ancient Roman temple.
