Several statues of our Blessed Mother in beloved Medjugorje—one of the world’s most peaceful Catholic pilgrimage destinations—were tragically vandalized with black spray paint last night. Also, a person was seen pouring a highly flammable liquid onto the outdoor altar behind St. James Church and setting it ablaze.
In response, the Medjugorje Parish Office reminds the faithful that this is a moment to live Mother Mary’s message proclaimed in Medjugorje for the past 45 years: “prayer, fasting, forgiveness,” and the conversion of souls.
The good news is the statues are already being restored and the fire will not stop pilgrims from traveling to Medjugorje to experience this incredible place of peace and mercy.
