Joseph Cazenavette April 19 - 29, 2010 Proposed Itinerary April 19: New Orleans - Turin - Depart New Orleans for your overnight flights to Turin Italy. Dinner and breakfast served on board your transatlantic flight.April 20: Arrive – Turin - Upon arrival you will be met by a Tour Escort and transfer to your hotel. Along the way you will see what makes Turin one of the most beautiful and architecturally rich cities of Italy. There will be time to relax before gathering for the Welcome Dinner. (D) TURINApril 21: Turin – Solemn Exhibition of the Holy Shroud - Today you will be one of the privileged few who will be able to go to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist for the "Solemn Exposition of the Shroud" in 2010. To conserve and protect the Shroud, it is normally stored in a custom built, temperature and humidity controlled, lightight case, and not visible to the public. This is a special gift from the Pope in the year that is to be dedicated to the "Word of God." On this day you will also visit the tomb of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, often referred to as "the Man of the Beatitudes." Pier Giorgio was a model of Virtue; pure, happy, enthusiastic about everything that is good and beautiful, and is Saint for the Youth of our time. Dinner and overnight in Turin. (B,D) TURINApril 22: La Salette - Enjoy the magnificent alpine scenery as you travel through the mountains to France, where you visit the Marian Shrine of La Salette Here the Virgin Mary appeared in 1846 to two shepherds, crying, lamenting over the lack of observance of Sundays and the profaning of her Son’s holy name. Have Mass in the beautiful Basilica and drink from the spring that forever marks the spot where the Virgin appeared. Dinner and overnight in Corps. (B,D) CORPSApril 23: Laus / Paray-le-Monial - Today you will visit the shrine of Notre Dame Du Laus, also known as the "Refuge of Sinners," where Our Lady appeared to Benoite Rencurel in 1644 with a powerful message of hope. Continue on to Paray-le Monial where you will have Mass and visit the Chapel of the Visitation where Jesus exposed His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. Here you will see the reliquary of St. Margaret containing her relics, located underneath a wax figure of the saint. Dinner and overnight in Paray-le-Monial. (B,D) PARAY-le-MONIALApril 24: Ars - Today you head to the pretty little town of Ars where you will have Mass and see the incorrupt body of St Jean-Marie Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests. St. John Vianney spent a great part of his holy life giving powerful sermons and spending up to 20 hours a day in the confessional. People came from every part of France to see the Curé of Ars seeking his spiritual guidance and healing. You will have time for prayer befoe returning to Paray-le-Monial for dinner and overnight. (B,D) PARAY-le-MONIALApril 25: Avignon / Carcassonne - Today you will travel south through the beautiful region of Provence stopping first in the city of Avignon, where you will see the Palace of the Popes, which was the official Papal residence from 1309-1377. Continue on to the medieval walled city of Cacassonne. Time to explore this historic fortified city before dinner. Overnight in Carcassonne. (B,D) CARCASSONNEApril 26: Lourdes - This morning you will begin with Mass at the Basilica of Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Celse. Afterward you will travel from the Languedoc region through the Pyrenees to the great Marian Shrine at Lourdes. Upon arrival you will check into your hotel and have time to relax or explore before dinner. Afterward, you may participate in the beautiful candlelight procession. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes. (B,D) LOURDESApril 27-28: Lourdes - During your stay in Lourdes you will have a chance to celebrate daily Mass, and Mass at the Grotto on Sunday, enjoy a video presentation telling the story of Lourdes, and walk in the footsteps of St Bernadette. See Boly Mill where St Bernadette was born and the "Cachot," an abandoned prison where Bernadette’s impoverished family lived. Join your prayers with those of pilgrims from around the world as you pray for the sick, drink water from the miraculous spring or submerge yourself in the healing baths. Experience Christ’s love as you walk the life-sized Stations of the Cross overlooking the holy Grotto. Kneel in the chapel built on the very rock of the Grotto, in obedience to the request of the "Immaculate Conception." Evenings are free for optional Blessed Sacrament Procession before dinner. Your role in the universal church will have new meaning as you join the candlelight procession and group rosary. (B,D) LOURDESApril 29: Return to USA - This morning you will have an early departure for the airport for your return flights to the USA.
