Proposed Itinerary

Day 1 – New Orleans - Rome
Depart New Orleans for your connecting flights to Rome. Dinner and breakfast will be served aboard transatlantic flight.

Day 2 - Arrive Rome
Upon arrival in Rome Airport you will find your luggage and exit the baggage claim into the arrivals hall where you will be greeted by your tour escort and/or driver and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a free afternoon for rest, relaxation, or exploration. Your tour escort can suggest sights or walks for you to enjoy. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 3 - Rome (Papal Audience at the Vatican – pending the Pope’s schedule)
This morning the group will go to Vatican City to attend the weekly Papal Audience and Blessing given by His Holiness Francis. Following the audience visit of the Vatican Museums, a group of most impressive edifices with hundreds of galleries filled with art treasures. See awe-inspiring relics and works of art donated throughout centuries as tributes of faith. Through the tour you will cover The Tapestry Gallery, The Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel, containing Michelangelo's mural of the Last Judgment. Later, enter the largest church in Christendom St Peter's Basilica, built on the site where St Peter was martyred, and which contains Michelangelo’s Pieta and Bernini's amazing bronze canopy. You will have time to pray at the tombs of St. Pope John Paull II, and St. John XXIII. Dinner and overnight in Rome. Day 3 - Christian Rome

Day 4 - Christian Rome
This morning depart for a sightseeing tour of a lifetime! Although, our focus is on "Christian Rome" also you will see many important cultural and monumental sights around Rome. The tour includes three Basilicas: St Mary Major, one of the oldest shrines dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, a shrine that contains a relic from the manger of the infant Jesus; the Basilica di Santa Croce in Gerusalemme (Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem) which was designed to house the relics of the True Cross found by the St. Helen on Calvary; and the Basilica of the St John in Lateran, the Cathedral of Rome and the former residence of the popes prior to their return to Rome in 1377. While here you may cross the street and have the opportunity to climb the “Holy Stairs,” which is the actual staircase from the palace of Pontius Pilate in Jerusalem, brought to Rome by St. Helen in the 4th century.

Day 5 - Rome
This morning you will begin with a visit to the Basilica St. Paul Outside the Walls, which houses the remains of St Paul under its main altar, followed by the Basilica of Saint Sebastian Outside the Walls and the Catacombs of St. Sebastian, which are located along the Via Appia Antica. On the way back to the city center, you will see the ancient Baths of Caracalla, Arch of Drusus, Chapel "O'Domine Quo Vadis?" and the Tomb of Celilia Metella before returning to the hotel. This afternoon you'll have the option to stroll through the Histoical Center of Rome to see the Fountain of Trevi and enjoy gelato in Piazza Navona. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 6 - Rome - Medjugorje
Depart for Rome Airport for your one hour flight to Croatia. Upon arrival you will be greeted by your Guide who will accompany you to Medjugorje and recount the story of Our Lady’s Apparitions along the way. Dinner and overnight in Medjugorje.

Day 7 to 12 - Medjugorje
During your stay, you will experience the beauty and peace of this simple village, and have the opportunity to share your faith with pilgrims from all over the world. Here are some of the activities planned for the week:

    Daily Mass: Each morning, at 10:00am (noon on Sunday), the group will assemble at St. James Church for Mass and the blessing of religious articles immediately following.

    Climb Apparition Hill: Recite the Rosary while climbing the hill to the place where the visionaries first allegedly encountered Our Lady.

    Climb Mt. Krizevac (Cross Mountain): In 1933, the villagers built a 30' high cross atop a mountain to commemorate Jesus' passion and death on the cross. Climb to the top, stopping 15 times along the way to rest and Pray the Stations of the Cross.

    Apparitions: Join the villagers and fellow pilgrims in praying the Rosary in St. James Church at 6pm, and stay for the alleged apparition of Our Lady to the visionaries at 6:40pm. Stay for the Croatian Mass the Blessing of the Sick immediately following.

    Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Our Lady has always called us to be close to Her Son. Join fellow pilgrims for Adoration on Tuesday and Saturday at the out-side altar of St. James Church, and for Veneration of the Cross on Friday inside the church. Adoration is also available in the Chapel every afternoon.

    Meetings with the Visionaries: Pending their availability, the guide will arrange meetings with the visionaries.

    Visit to the Community of Cenacolo: Founded by the Sisters of Charity, Cenacolo is a community for young men and women who have lost their way in life, and are on the road to recovery. We will hear their inspirational words about their journeys back to Jesus Christ.

    Prayer at the Statue of the Risen Christ: Pray at the bronze statue located on the grounds of St. James Church, and witness the droplets of water that miraculously seep out of Christ's right knee.

Day 13 - Medjugorje - USA
After an early breakfast, depart for Sarajevo (Split or Dubrovnik) Airport for return flights to the USA.
