June 4-16, 2018
with Terri Smith, Group
& Fr. Mike Snyder,
Day 1 New Orleans - Krakow
Depart New Orleans for your connecting flights to Krakow. Dinner and
breakfast will be served aboard transatlantic flight.
Day 2 - Krakow
Upon arrival in Krakow Airport you will find your luggage and exit into the
arrivals hall where you will meet your tour guide and board your private
motorcoach and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit Krakow's
Market Square and hear the silver trumpet of the bugler from St. Mary's Tower.
We will then have Mass of Thanksgiving inside St. Marys Basilica, followed by a
dinner in a nearby restaurant. Overnight in Krakow.
Day 3 - Krakow Divine Mercy Shrine
Today we will visit Lagiewniki, the capital of the Divine Mercy. It was here
that the message of the Divine Mercy originated, which Christ Himself wished to
pass on to our generation through the mediation of St. Faustina. Here we will
see the image of the Merciful Jesus and have Mass at the convent chapel near the
tomb of St Faustina. In the afternoon, we will also visit the Shrine of Divinity
dedicated by St. John Paul II on his last visit to Poland in 2002 and visit the
new center "Have no Fear" where we pray by the relic of St. John Paul II. Return
to hotel in Krakow for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 FULL DAY Excursion to Czestochowa
After breakfast we will travel north to Czestochowa, home of the greatest
pilgrimage shrine in Poland. We will have Mass at Jasna Gora Monastery where the
Miraculous Icon of the Black Madonna is located, and where St. John Paul II was
known to make frequent visits throughout his life. After time for prayer and
lunch, we will view the priceless treasures located in the Museum before
traveling back to Krakow.
Day 5 - Auschwitz - Wadowice
This morning we will travel to Auschwitz, the notorious Nazi concentration camp
where unspeakable atrocities occurred. We will see the cell that imprisoned St.
Maximillian Kolbe and the Martyrdom Museum recalling the horrors of the
Holocaust. In the afternoon we will go to Wadowice, the birthplace of Karol
Wojtyla (St. John Paul II) and celebrate Mass in the church he attended and in
which he was baptized as a child. We will visit his childhood home, now a museum
containing relics and artifacts from throughout his life, before returning to
Krakow for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 - Krakow - Medjugorje
After breakfast, we depart for Krakow Airport for your connecting flights to
Sarajevo. Upon arrival you will be greeted by your Guide who will accompany you
to Medjugorje and recount the story of Our Ladys Apparitions along the way.
Dinner and overnight in Medjugorje.
Day 7 to 12 - Medjugorje
During your stay, you will experience the beauty and peace of this simple
village, and have the opportunity to share your faith with pilgrims from all
over the world. Here are some of the activities planned for the week:
Daily Mass: Each morning, at 10:00am (noon on Sunday),
the group will assemble at St. James Church for Mass and the blessing of
religious articles immediately following.
Climb Apparition Hill: Recite the Rosary while
climbing the hill to the place where the visionaries first allegedly encountered
Climb Mt. Krizevac (Cross Mountain): In 1933, the
villagers built a 30' high cross atop a mountain to commemorate Jesus' passion
and death on the cross. Climb to the top, stopping 15 times along the way to
rest and Pray the Stations of the Cross.
Apparitions: Join the villagers and fellow pilgrims in
praying the Rosary in St. James Church at 6pm, and stay for the alleged
apparition of Our Lady to the visionaries at 6:40pm. Stay for the Croatian Mass
the Blessing of the Sick immediately following.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Our Lady has
always called us to be close to Her Son. Join fellow pilgrims for Adoration on
Tuesday and Saturday at the out-side altar of St. James Church, and for
Veneration of the Cross on Friday inside the church. Adoration is also available
in the Chapel every afternoon.
Meetings with the Visionaries: Pending their
availability, the guide will arrange meetings with the visionaries.
Visit to the Community of Cenacolo: Founded by the
Sisters of Charity, Cenacolo is a community for young men and women who have
lost their way in life, and are on the road to recovery. We will hear their
inspirational words about their journeys back to Jesus Christ.
Prayer at the Statue of the Risen Christ: Pray at the
bronze statue located on the grounds of St. James Church, and witness the
droplets of water that miraculously seep out of Christ's right knee.
