Pope Francis has appointed Archbishop Henryk Hoser
as Special Apostolic Visitor to the parish of Medjugorje!
On May 31, 2018, on the Feast of Corpus Christi and the Feast of the
Visitation of the Virgin Mary, Pope Francis appointed recently-retired
Archbishop Henryk Hoser of Poland as Special Apostolic Visitor to the parish
of Medjugorje! Monsignor Hoser would take up residence in Medjugorje in his
new role “for an indefinite period and ad nutum Sanctae Sedis,” which means
“at the disposal of the Holy See.” This is a great step toward recognizing
Medjugorje as an official shrine and the Pilgrims and parishioners of St.
James Parish, are overjoyed!
In 2017, after the “Ruini Commission” concluded it’s investigation into the
authenticity of the alleged apparitions in Medjugorje, and recommended to
Pope Francis that the first seven apparitions that took place in Medjugorje
during June and July 1981 be approved, Archbishop Hoser, confirmed “The
devotion of Medjugorje is allowed. It’s not prohibited, and need not be done
in secret. Today, dioceses and other institutions can organize official
pilgrimages. It’s no longer a problem. The decree of the former episcopal
conference of what used to be Yugoslavia, which, before the Balkan war,
advised against pilgrimages in Medjugorje organized by bishops, is no

In order to assist with expected increase in pilgrimages to Medjugorje in
the next year, we are looking for Catholic priests to act as Spiritual
Directors for pilgrims who have heard Our Lady’s call, and are making their
Spiritual Journey to Medjugorje. We are offering a FREE place, including
airfare, to Catholic Priests who are currently in Good Standing with the
Church, for every 5 (Five) paying Pilgrims. This offer is good for
ANY Medjugorje (only) departures listed on our website, beginning in
September 2018 through December 2019!
